WIRING 

Standard

Our standard package for phone and cable are 3 category five phone lines and 3 cable connections with your choice of locations in your new home.  Most homes come standard with a pre-wire for a Home Security System.

Optional

Instead of traditional CATV, DSS, internet connections, or home monitoring for children or for security, we offer the greatest advancement in homes since indoor plumbing:  Rooms are connected with high-speed data cables (Level 5); images from security cameras can be sent to any TV in your home; and built-in wiring network that supports ISDN computer connections, faster  Internet access, and can network computers and printers; and elaborate home theater systems. While this level of wiring is an option in a First Legacy Home, most of our homes are pre-wired for a Home Security System.  Please visit Get Wired for more information.

INSULATION - standard in all homes

Because it conforms to the space in which it is applied, our specially and professionally installed cellulose insulation provides a better seal in hard-to-reach areas and blocks airflow much better than fiberglass.  This special form of insulation contains a dry adhesive that is activated by a fine, damp mist during installation.  After drying, it forms a monolithic blanket of insulation that remains firmly attached to its application and will never settle.

In addition to preventing gaps and stopping air leaks better because of its unusual application, cellulose insulation has higher density than standard fiberglass insulation.  In fact, cellulose insulation is 2 to 3 times more dense than fiberglass batts.  That means air can't transfer through cellulose insulation as easily as it does fiberglass:  keeping your home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer and your utility bills lower.  By installing cellulose insulation, we can lower heating and cooling costs up to 40%, and a secondary benefit to this insulation is it provides an excellent sound buffer keeping outside noises where they belong -- outside!

BACK-UP POWER - optional

Anyone living in the Charlotte area can tell you that at least once each year, but usually more, the power has gone out for an extended period of time in parts of Charlotte.  Think back to Hugo or even to the most recent winters of with the big snow storms and freezing weather -- some people went weeks without power.  At First Legacy Homes, your home can be conveniently wired for a portable generator to be plugged in feeding directly to your circuit panel in case of a power outage.  We provide a transfer switch and an exterior weather proof outlet allowing you to disconnect your home from the utility company and utilize the power of your generator.  In homes supplied with natural gas, a line for use with a duel- or tri-fuel generator can be installed making back-up power not only convenient, but cost-efficient as well.
